Ugg® Boots

Originally the term “Ugg® boot” would refer to a style of Australian boot which is made with sheepskin.  These boots were worn in Australia during the early 1930’s by farmers who wanted to keep their feet warm.  However, during the 1960’s these would be worn by surfers to keep their feet warm after coming in from riding the waves.  Finally many people in Australia would often wear these  boots around the house during their mild winters.

Although these boots are still manufactured by several companies in Australia, the “Ugg®” is actually the trademark of a boot manufacturing in the US by a company “Ugg® Australia”.  So you will find that a lot of the Australian manufacturers are now marketing their boots formally known as “Ugg® boots” as “Australian Sheepskin Boots”.

It does not matter whether you call them sheepskin or Ugg® boots they are incredibly warm and soft and have certainly become a big hit with both celebrities and trendsetters alike during the past couple of years.
 
Both Sheepskin and Ugg® boots come in various heights, both short and tall and also come in a range of colours from pink and purple to tan and brown.  Men’s versions of these boots also come in more neutral colours.  You will find that some come with chunky heels and laces, whilst other are flat heeled and easy to slip on.

The best time for wearing this type of boot is when the weather is cold as they are exceptionally warm due to the use of sheepskin.  However, it would be best if you did not wear these during excessively wet or muddy conditions.  If you are looking for warmth whilst walking around the house or traveling to and from work during a cold spell, then the sheepskin or Ugg® boot would be the ideal choice.

The best way of girls and women to wear Ugg® boots to make sure that they look their best is either by tucking a pair of tight legged jeans into them.  However, if you want to add a bit more feminine look to them, then why not pair them with a short skirt and a pair of opaque tights.

A great way for guys to wear these boots is with jeans and a good shirt that provides not only a very casual look, but also gives the wearer a somewhat rugged look.

Because of the warmth of the sheepskin it means that you are able to wear these Ugg® boots without either socks or tights even in some of the coldest conditions.
